- The State Duma recalled the annual payment by May 9 to veterans and participants of the Second World War
An annual payment of 10,000 rubles by May 9 is due to participants and invalids of the Great Patriotic War. Ekaterina Stenyakina, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs, recalled this on April 21.
"By decree of the President [of Russia Vladimir Putin], veterans who served in the active army during the Great Patriotic War or were disabled as a result of injury, concussion, or illness in combat areas will receive a payment of 10,000 rubles. The payment is also due for performing special tasks behind enemy lines or on the territories of foreign countries and for some other reasons," Stenyakina said.
As the parliamentarian noted, additional funds for Victory Day may be received by recipients in April or May, along with another pension through a bank or Russian Post offices.
"The Social Fund has already started transferring these amounts from April 3, the first day of payment of pensions for the current month," Stenyakina said.
The parliamentarian explained that veterans or their relatives do not need to submit an application, as funds are accrued automatically based on data from the Social Fund of Russia (SFR).
On April 20, State Duma deputy from the Liberal Democratic Party, deputy chairman of the Duma Committee on Budget and Taxes Kaplan Panes announced that the schedule for the payment of pensions and child benefits would be adjusted due to the May holidays. According to Panes, it does not matter whether the pension is insurance, social, disability or survivor's pension. For pensioners receiving payments by Russian Post, delivery without changes will begin on May 2-3 and last until May 25.
