Russians will receive social security payments in May earlier than usual, at the end of April. Tatiana Podolskaya, an expert at the Presidential Academy, told about this on April 21.

"There will be no "disappearance" of payments in May; they will be consolidated at the end of April. The mechanism for early transfer of funds on April 30 is a standard banking and treasury practice aimed at protecting the rights of recipients," Podolskaya explained in an interview with the Prime agency.

According to the expert, in 2026, public holidays coincide with the dates when citizens usually receive money — these are May 3, 5 and 8. Since the transfer of payments to a later date is not provided for by the rules, the funds will be transferred on Thursday, April 30.

Podolskaya added that a similar practice of early enrollment had already been used in 2019 and 2024.
