Sergei Stadler, People's Artist, violinist and conductor of Russia, has died at the age of 64. This was announced on April 20 by the Governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov.

"Sergei Valentinovich Stadler, a world—renowned musician, People's Artist of Russia, an outstanding violinist, conductor, teacher, artistic director of the Petersburg Concert and chief conductor of the St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra, suddenly passed away.‑St. Petersburg," Beglov is quoted as saying on the website of the press service of the St. Petersburg administration.
