Fradkov launched the Days of Solovki project in Yaroslavl
The cultural and educational project "Days of Solovki" was launched in Yaroslavl. It was launched by the chairman of the PSB, Peter Fradkov, the Governor of the Yaroslavl Region, Mikhail Evraev, and the director of the Solovetsky State Museum-Reserve, the vicar of the Solovetsky Monastery, Bishop Porfiry of Ozersk.
According to the bank's press service, the project introduces residents and guests of the region to the cultural and historical heritage of the Solovetsky Archipelago, demonstrating its role in shaping historical memory and the continuity of generations.
"The sustainable development of society is impossible without relying on historical memory and traditional values, and our project allows us to make a unique heritage accessible to a wide audience — from young people to the professional community, contributing to a meaningful dialogue about Russia's past, present and future. Visitors will be able to see authentic shrines of the ancient monastery, revered icons, as well as photographs, paintings, and copies of archival documents. Real evidence of the Solovki camp history will also be presented: personal belongings and documents," Fradkov said at the opening ceremony.
The program of the event includes a photo exhibition about nature, the exhibition "Solovki: Golgotha and Resurrection. The Solovetsky heritage in the past, present and future of Russia", lectures at leading universities in Yaroslavl, where representatives of the Solovetsky Monastery and the Solovetsky Museum-Reserve will perform, the screening of the documentary film "Holy Archipelago", a charity concert "Solovki: the Golden Chain of Times", the proceeds of which will go to support the families of veterans of their military.
"For residents and guests of our region, this is a great opportunity to get to know the unique history and culture of the Solovetsky Archipelago, its spiritual heritage and its role in the history of the country," said Evraev, adding that such projects strengthen the unity of the people, contribute to the education of youth and make Russia stronger.
The Solovki Days in Yaroslavl will last until June 12, then they will be held in Lugansk.
