The constant consumption of protein bars can lead to negative health consequences, including bloating, inflammation in the intestines, and others. Nutritionist Sofia Kovanova warned about this on Monday, April 20.

"With frequent use of protein bars, the feeling of fullness may be disrupted. The ultra-processed texture requires less chewing, which means it activates saturation mechanisms worse, so the brain "does not count" the bar as a full meal," she said in an interview with aif.ru .

In addition, regular intake of isolates, polyols, and emulsifiers can alter the gut microbiota and increase low-level inflammation.

"It's debatable how to replace sweets, but it works if you control the use of such bars. It is optimal to consume no more than one bar per day as a snack, but not as a substitute for a full meal," the nutritionist added.

Kovanova also recommended to refrain from eating protein bars for people who have gastrointestinal problems, allergies to milk protein, insulin resistance and intolerance to sweeteners.

Endocrinologist and nutritionist Anton Polyakov said on April 17 that most protein bars from stores are not healthy and should be eaten no more than once a day, writes RIAMO. He added that most often they contain a high concentration of simple sugars, according to the website. kp.ru .

On the same day, nutritionist Maria Rumyantseva said that ice cream, thanks to the structure of milk fat and CLA acids, can reduce "bad" cholesterol and speed up metabolism, but turning a sundae into a cure for diabetes and obesity is a dangerous distortion of meaning, writes Life.Ru . According to Rumyantseva, the optimal portion of the delicacy is 70-100 g, and it should be consumed from time to time, not every day.
