The court lifted the arrest of part of the property of rapper Morgenstern
The court lifted the arrest of a part of the essence of rapper Alisher Morgenstern (recognized in the Russian Federation as a foreign agent) in the framework of a criminal case on evading the duties of a foreign agent. This was announced on April 20 by a correspondent of Izvestia.
The arrest will remain on the property, the value of which is equivalent to the amount of the 7 million rubles fine imposed on Morgenstern. The fine can be paid off by selling it.
On the same day, during the debate between the parties, the state prosecution requested that Morgenstern be fined over 8 million rubles in the case of evading the duties of a foreign agent. On April 20, a Moscow court seized the rapper's property.
As Morgenstern's lawyer noted on April 16, his property had already been seized earlier, but the deadline had expired, so the prosecutor appealed to the court with a new petition. It states that the musician has a number of properties, including an apartment building and non-residential premises.
The Savelovsky District Court of Moscow has scheduled a criminal case against rapper Morgenstern for April 2 in absentia. According to the investigation, the musician had previously been brought to administrative responsibility twice for violating the procedure for the activities of a foreign agent.
The criminal case against Morgenstern under Part 2 of Article 330.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Evading the duties of a foreign agent") On March 2, it was sent to court.
On December 28 last year, the Federal Tax Service billed Morgenstern for more than 584 thousand rubles. The new debt appeared a few days after the repayment of the previous debt.
