The process of adaptation and certification of the updated 12-ton Forland 12 truck model has begun in Russia. The model will undergo a comprehensive redesign taking into account Russian realities, the MB Rus distributor company said in a statement received by Izvestia on April 20.

Thus, representatives of the Chinese brand said that the Forland 12 model will receive a reinforced frame and a modified suspension, which should ensure resistance to increased loads and difficult road conditions typical for intercity routes. The curb weight has been optimized: with an index of 4030-4210 kg and a gross weight of 11,990 kg, significant payload capacity is achieved after installation of the superstructures, the company noted.

The car is powered by a 4.5-liter Cummins engine with a torque of 760 Nm, aggregated with an eight-speed gearbox. The driver's workplace is organized in a modernized cabin, a seat with pneumatic shock absorption is installed. A set of modern driver assistance systems is provided.

MB Rus also said that they plan to expand their dealer network in key regions of the country, and consider Russia not only as a major sales market, but also as a platform for product adaptation and development.

Shakman Motors is launching a recall campaign in Russia, coordinated with Rosstandart. As noted on April 10, 2116 SX3258 trucks are participating in it. The recall covers 1996 cars that have not yet been registered and are in dealers' warehouses, as well as 120 cars sold in June –November 2022.
