Fans of strict diets and people with an eating disorder may experience type 5 diabetes. Inna Misnikova, chief freelance endocrinologist at the Ministry of Health of the Moscow Region, warned about this on Monday, April 20.

"The metabolism is disrupted if a person severely restricts himself in nutrition. This often applies to young girls who go on very strict diets. It sometimes even takes on the character of a mental disorder," she said in an interview with Radio 1.

The expert stressed that it is easy to cross this line, therefore, when following restrictive diets, consultation with a doctor is mandatory.

Misnikova explained that, since in true "diabetes from malnutrition" (type five), the very structure of the pancreas suffers, which is underdeveloped due to protein deficiency, the prognosis depends on timely care.

"If the gland is seriously damaged and has formed a small one, absolute insulin deficiency develops. In this case, as the specialist noted, there is only one way out — insulin therapy. There are cases when a diagnosis is made early enough, then this option can be reversible," said Professor Misnikova.

The endocrinologist also called the return of type 5 diabetes to the WHO classification an important step to draw attention to the problem of malnutrition in developing countries. She clarified that this is especially true for the nutrition of pregnant women and young children.

Earlier that day, Tatiana Markova, MD, Professor and Head of the Endocrinology Department of the State Clinical Hospital No. 52, stressed the importance of timely medical examinations to prevent serious complications of diabetes. 360.ru .

Nutritionist Maria Rumyantseva said that ice cream, thanks to the structure of milk fat and CLA acids, can indeed reduce "bad" cholesterol and speed up metabolism, but turning a sundae into a cure for diabetes and obesity is a dangerous distortion of meaning, writes Life.Ru . According to the expert, the optimal portion of the delicacy is 70-100 g, and it should be consumed from time to time, not every day.

Evgeny Belousov, a gastroenterologist at JSC "Medicine" (Academician Roitberg clinic), Candidate of Medical Sciences, told Izvestia on April 14 that the combination of pilaf and salads with mayonnaise is especially dangerous for people with diseases of the gastrointestinal tract (gastrointestinal tract), metabolic disorders and cardiovascular problems. People with type 2 diabetes and lipid metabolism disorders should also be careful. This combination of saturated fats can worsen the course of these conditions.

Earlier, on April 9, Antonina Starodubova, chief nutritionist at the Moscow Health department, told the Moscow city News agency that the cake cap contains a large amount of sugar, so together with other traditional Easter dishes, you can afford to eat no more than 10 grams at a time without harm to your health.
