The German authorities have taken note of reports of the detention of a German citizen in Russia. This was announced on April 20 by the representative of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Josef Hinterseer.

"We have taken note of media reports in this regard, but, as in other similar cases, we would not give details here because of the need to protect individual rights," Die Zeit newspaper quoted him as saying.

On the same day, a German citizen suspected of preparing a terrorist attack on a law enforcement facility was detained in the Stavropol Territory. It was noted that an improvised explosive device with a capacity of 1.5 kg of TNT with damaging elements was seized from the woman. The explosion was supposed to take place in the morning so that as many employees as possible would be injured.
