Six people were injured in a collision between two trams in St. Petersburg.
In the Krasnoselsky district of St. Petersburg, two trams collided on the Peterhof highway. As a result, six passengers were injured. According to the Izvestia source, the number of victims has increased to eight. This was announced on April 20 by the State Traffic Inspectorate and the prosecutor's Office of the region.
"All the injured were taken to a medical facility," said Artem Kiselyovsky, head of the Krasnoselsky district traffic police.
According to preliminary information, the driver of the tram, born in 1982, while moving from Partizan German Street towards Border Guard Garkavy Street, crashed into the tram ahead.
The incident occurred in front of the Baltic Pearl residential complex. During the collision, the passengers fell in the cabin.
The Krasnoselsky District Prosecutor's Office establishes all the circumstances and causes of the collision, as well as evaluates compliance with legislation on road safety and operation of electric vehicles.
