Employees of the Fukushima-1 and Fukushima-2 nuclear power plants did not identify any emergency situations at the facilities after the earthquake, the Kyodo news agency reported on April 20.

An earthquake of magnitude 4.9 occurred in Japan on April 18. The tremors occurred 32 km northwest of Nagano, where more than 360,000 people live.
