Vessel traffic continues in the Strait of Hormuz, despite US statements about the introduction of a naval blockade. This was announced on April 20 by the correspondent of Izvestia, Nasser Ashkeri, commenting on the situation in the area.

According to him, various vessels, including Chinese oil tankers, continue to pass through the strait. He noted that the lack of broad international support from European countries and other states casts doubt on the effectiveness of the declared blockade and gives it a rather political character.

"This is one of the dead ends that the United States has driven itself into by attacking Iran, since (Before the start of the war. This strait was open to everyone and no fees were charged," he said.

The published footage shows the patrolling of the water area by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Representatives of the security services reported that the situation in the area remains stable, and the passage of foreign vessels is carried out with the permission of the Iranian side.

The New York Times newspaper said on April 18 that control of the Strait of Hormuz allowed Iran to withdraw from the conflict with the United States and Israel, having a ready-made "plan to intimidate opponents." It was noted that Iran had lost a number of weapons as part of the conflict. However, at the moment there are enough of them to control the situation in the strait.

At the same time, the US Navy intercepted 23 ships linked to Iran as part of its blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. At the same time, the United States provides a naval blockade of ships entering or exiting Iranian ports and coastal areas.
