Preventive shutdown of hot water should not exceed five days. This was announced on April 20 by Vladislav Grib, Deputy Secretary of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation.

"The period for turning off hot water in homes should be minimal. <...> I believe that prevention should be reduced to a maximum of three to five days," Grib said in an interview with TASS.

He added that it usually takes up to two weeks to turn off the water, which causes inconvenience to residents of apartment buildings — there are additional expenses for electricity, water and other areas of human life. It is important to take this into account when water is turned off for a long time, according to the Deputy Secretary of the Russian Defense Ministry.
