Pavel Durov, the founder of the Telegram messenger, posted on the social network X on April 19 (ex. Twitter) supported a public discussion initiated by Brian Armstrong, co-founder of the Coinbase crypto exchange, in which businessmen discussed the parallels between entrepreneurship and video games.

"I played every classic strategy game of the 90s - WC2, C&C, Transport Tycoon, Capitalism, AoE, Civ, HoMM, SimCity, X—Com, MoO, TA, Myth, Majesty, Caesar, KKnD - even won money in local StarCraft tournaments. These games have taught me planning, timing, resource allocation, and risk management," Durov wrote.

The discussion began with Armstrong's confession of his love of strategy video games in his youth. The entrepreneur said that until the age of 20 he spent a lot of time playing computer games of the RTS genre (Real-time strategy, "real-time strategy").

Armstrong said that such games have taught him how to optimize business processes and manage resources efficiently. According to him, video games and entrepreneurship have a lot in common, but the latter also benefits society. Durov supported Armstrong.

Psychologist Oleg Zakharchenko told on March 29 what real benefits modern projects bring to gamers and where the fine line of reason runs. According to him, games can temporarily reduce anxiety: studies show that even a few minutes of gameplay reduce stress levels and heart rate. This is due to distraction, the "flow" effect, and a sense of progress that stimulates the dopamine system.
