Weak and medium-level magnetic storms have been recorded on Earth. This was announced on April 19 at the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy of the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IKI RAS).

"At the moment, the geomagnetic event is developing according to the forecast: there are bursts of disturbances in the G1–G2 range," the laboratory said in a Telegram message.

It is noted that the geomagnetic situation will return to normal by April 20, but the impact of the coronal hole on the Sun will persist until the middle of next week.

The day before, the IKI RAS also noted the beginning of a G1-level magnetic storm on Earth. According to scientists, the duration of instability of the geomagnetic situation can become significant — from five to seven days.
