Finnish racer Juha Miettinen died in an accident during the first qualifying race of the Nurburgring 24 Hours race. This was announced on April 18 on the media portal of the organizers of the competition.
"Despite the immediate arrival of help, emergency medical personnel were unable to rescue pilot Juha Miettinen, who was removed from the car; the driver died at the medical center after all attempts at resuscitation were unsuccessful," the statement said.
It is noted that seven cars were involved in the accident. The other pilots were taken to a medical facility after the incident, and none of them is in any danger of life.
"Over the history of the Nordschleife highway, more than 70 people have died on it. For its complexity, it has received the nickname "Green Hell," notes Sport-Express.
