Dmitriev called those who criticize Trump's decision on Russian oil warmongers.
Kirill Dmitriev, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), on April 18 called critics of US President Donald Trump's decision on Russian oil warmongers.
"The warmongers have sharply criticized the decision of the Donald Trump administration to extend sanctions relief on Russian oil," Dmitriev wrote on his Telegram channel.
So, he divided the critics into two camps — politicians from the US Democratic Party and journalists. The first team included California Governor Gavin Newsom, Russophobic senators Chuck Schumer, Jinn Sheikhin, Elizabeth Warren, member of the House of Representatives Marcy Kaptur, former US Ambassador to Ukraine Steven Pifer and others.
The head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund also cited the opinions of publications such as The Hill, The Daily Mail, as well as journalists from The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), Politico and Bloomberg.
The day before, the US Treasury Department renewed the license for the sale of Russian oil loaded on tankers until April 17. The permit will be valid until May 16. The head of the American department, Scott Bessent, indicated on April 15 that the easing of sanctions against Russian oil could stabilize the global fuel market. In his opinion, the price of oil could jump to $250 per barrel, but this did not happen due to the easing of sanctions.
