When a cat wants to show its love and trust to its owner, it starts touching him with its paws. This was announced on April 18 by Elena Frolenko, a veterinarian and expert of the SUPERPET natural food manufacturer, in an interview with Gazeta.Ru».

This behavior of a cat is called a "milk step." At a very young age, kittens do this to their own mother in order to stimulate milk production and strengthen the bond. This instinct persists in the pet throughout its life and is subsequently transferred to the owner.

"Even when a cat has grown up a long time ago and feeds on its own, the memory of those pleasant moments remains with it forever. And when the pet feels particularly well, relaxed and protected, it returns to this soothing ritual," said the veterinarian.

At the same time, Frolenko warned that at some moments such behavior may indicate anxiety and stress experienced by the animal. If the cat trampled on the owner, and then abruptly stopped, problems with paws and joints are also possible.

"Rhythmic movements promote the production of endorphins. A cat can start trampling on its owner in moments of anxiety to cope with stress," the expert explained.

On April 15, veterinarians of the State Veterinary Service compiled a guide on how to arrange a happy life for a pet. Experts recommended keeping scales in the kitchen for precise control of food portions, as well as two bowls for water and food. Special brushes should be provided for hair care. If a cat lives at home, then you should take care of the scratching post. Automatic feeders help to observe the diet, and a video surveillance system helps to monitor the pet during the absence of the owners.
