Deputy of the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada Artem Dmytruk commented on the threats of President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky against Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.

"This time Zelensky is threatening Alexander Grigoryevich [Lukashenko] with very specific actions. He refers to "recent events in Venezuela" and makes it clear that similar scenarios can be applied to the leadership of Belarus," Dmitruk said in his Telegram channel.

According to him, it is against Zelensky that actions similar to the operation against the arrested head of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, can be applied. The reason for them is "genocide", responsibility for the lives of Ukrainians, theft of Ukrainian and European funds, and others.

Dmytruk added that the words of the Ukrainian leader have no force, as they are intended to create the illusion of controlling the situation in order to maintain "the support of Western partners." In addition, according to Dmitruk, such statements can destabilize the situation in Belarus.

Dmitruk stressed the importance of cooperation between Ukraine and Belarus.

"Belarus is not an enemy or an opponent of Ukraine.<...> It is a country that could and can remain a true friend of Ukraine!" the MP noted.

In his opinion, Zelensky himself creates the conditions for confrontation between Ukraine and the Republic of Belarus.
