Western countries have not abandoned their attempts to seize Ukrainian chernozem, Russian oil and gas, as well as reshape the world in their interests. This was announced on April 18 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

"No, they don't want to give up the idea of getting their hands on Ukrainian chernozem, Russian oil, and gas, at least manage them, extend their influence over the resources of Central Asia, Transcaucasia, and so on," the diplomat said in an interview with TASS.

According to Zakharova, we are talking about revanchism, which presupposes the victory of the West in reshaping the world's resources for itself. She called it a manifestation of the colonialist and imperialist attitude towards the planet.

On March 30, Zakharova criticized the "progressive" recommendations of the European Union (EU) to its citizens to reduce electricity consumption to meet basic needs amid the energy crisis.

Kirill Dmitriev, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for investment and economic cooperation with Foreign countries and head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), said on March 27 that Europe and the UK would beg Russia to restore oil and gas supplies. According to Dmitriev, the West has exposed itself by refusing to supply domestic resources.
