Ben Zagre, a former defender of the Yaroslavl Shinnik football club, had his leg amputated. This was announced on April 18 by journalist Ivan Karpov.

"In April 2025, Ben had a tumor removed from his leg. <...> But the doctors in the capital questioned the tests. In Burkina Faso, the player was confirmed with a terrible diagnosis. Zagre underwent chemotherapy in Portugal, but it did not help," the publication says on the journalist's Telegram channel.

He added that the 27-year-old athlete was diagnosed with cancer. After prolonged attempts at treatment, Zagre's leg still had to be amputated.

Australian snowboarder Cam Bolton suffered a neck fracture on February 10 during training before the start of the Olympic competition in Italy. The athlete, for whom these Olympic Games were supposed to be the fourth in his career, fell while preparing for a snowboard cross competition.
