The American nuclear aircraft carrier Gerald R. Ford entered the Red Sea after repairs, accompanied by two destroyers. This was reported on April 18 by The Associated Press (AP), citing American officials.

"[Gerald R.] Ford has entered the Red Sea and is now operating in the region," the agency quoted one of the interlocutors as saying.

It is specified that the aircraft carrier is accompanied by the destroyers Winston S. Churchill and Mahan. Before that, he was in the Mediterranean off the coast of the Middle East.

Two people were injured in a fire on the American aircraft carrier Gerald Ford on March 12. The cause of the fire, according to the report, was a fire in the main laundry room of the ship.
