Lavrov and the Algerian Foreign Minister discussed the situation in the Middle East

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov discussed the situation in the Middle East with Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf. The meeting took place on April 18 as part of a visit to the Antalya Diplomatic Forum.

"A thorough exchange of views took place on topical issues on the global and regional agenda, with a focus on the situation in the Middle East, the Sahara-Sahel and the Maghreb," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on its website.

Both sides stressed their readiness to coordinate actions to resolve conflicts in the world through diplomacy. The Ministers also expressed satisfaction with the dialogue between the two countries and the established cooperation.

Lavrov arrived in Turkey on April 17 to participate in the Fifth Antalya Diplomatic Forum. The diplomat's plane landed at Antalya airport. Lavrov is expected to speak at a special session of the forum and take part in bilateral meetings with foreign colleagues.
