The Lebanese Prime Minister condemned the attack on the French military of the peacekeeping army

Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam on April 18 condemned the attack on French peacekeepers in the country and ordered an investigation into the incident.

"I condemn today's attack on the soldiers of the French battalion UNIFIL. I have given strict instructions to conduct an immediate investigation to clarify the circumstances of this attack and bring those responsible to justice," Salam wrote on his page on the social network X (ex. Twitter)

According to him, the attack causes great harm to Lebanon and its relations with friendly countries.

The START Treaty may be replaced by mutual data exchange with less stringent quantitative restrictions.

Earlier in the day, the UNIFIL command reported that the UN interim force in southern Lebanon had been attacked, killing one soldier and injuring three others.

French President Emmanuel Macron has called for those responsible for the death of a French UN peacekeeper in southern Lebanon to be punished. He clarified that Senior Sergeant Florian Montorio from the 17th Parachute Engineering Regiment in Montauban was killed.
