A Memorial Garden was laid in Mozhaisk in honor of the participants of the Great Patriotic War

On April 18, the International Ecological and Patriotic action "Garden of Memory", which is dedicated to the heroes who fell during the Great Patriotic War (WWII), started in Mozhaisk, Moscow region.

As part of the event, the participants planted 85 lime trees on the eve of the 85th anniversary of the outbreak of the war. The action was attended by descendants of the commanders of Victory, volunteers, ambassadors of the DobroFon program and local residents.

"Today we pay tribute to memory and honor. We are planting the Alley of Glory, the alley of memory of 85 trees in the year of the 85th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War. Wars for the integrity of our country, for the future of our people. And today we say thank you to all those who defended our Homeland during these years," said Denis Mordvintsev, head of Mozhaisk Municipal District.

Natalia Koneva, President of the Victory Commanders Memorial Foundation, said that during her school years, together with her father, Marshal of the Soviet Union Ivan Konev, she laid an apple orchard. According to her, despite the fact that her father is no longer there, the garden planted at that time has been preserved. She noted that such actions help to preserve the memory of the past.

"We actually plant because of the memory. In memory of those people who gave their lives for their Homeland. I want to say that you can be proud that you live in such a wonderful place as Mozhaysk and Mozhaisk district, because here was one of the harshest lines of our defense," Koneva said.

The international action "Garden of Memory" was held in Sevastopol on March 18. The event took place in the mountainous area of Balaklava district. Those who took part in the action sang the anthem of Sevastopol, and were also charged with positive emotions. Those involved in the planting of trees came to the place of the action by families, collectives and associations.
