Control of oil supplies through the Strait of Hormuz was one of the objectives of the US operation against Iran. This was stated on April 18 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at the Antalya Diplomatic Forum.
In his opinion, Washington did not really have any plans to "destroy civilization" in Iran.
"This, in my opinion, is a figure of speech. But the plans that were made were to control the oil that passes through the Persian Gulf, through the Strait of Hormuz," the minister said.
