- Lukashenko pointed to the West's provocation of the post-Soviet republics against Russia
Western countries have always provoked post-Soviet states, including Belarus, against Russia. This was announced by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko on April 18.
"Listen, you (West. We, Ukraine, and other post—Soviet republics have always been provoked against Russia. You always provoked," he said in an interview with RT.
According to the Belarusian leader, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky was also well aware of this.
Yulia Mendel, the former press secretary of the Ukrainian leader, said on April 16 that the plans of Western countries against Russia and its president Vladimir Putin had failed. According to her, the West has not achieved the "collapse" of the state.
Back in 2024, Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov noted that Western countries continue to try to persuade Belarus to pursue an anti-Russian policy. He clarified that the pressure exerted is likely to continue until the active phase of the conflict in Ukraine is completed.
