The extension of the lifting of US sanctions on Russian oil trade for another month will affect more than 100 million barrels that are loaded onto tankers and are on their way. This was announced on April 18 by Kirill Dmitriev, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), in a Telegram channel.

The diplomat noted that this is happening in spite of placing such trade from the outside.

"Extending the lifting of sanctions on Russian oil in transit for another 30 days, which all warmongers vehemently opposed, will affect over 100 million barrels of oil en route, as it did last time," he said.

Shortly before that, Dmitriev also indicated in the Telegram channel that Russia continues to cooperate with the United States on economic and energy issues.

The US Treasury Department had earlier renewed the license for the sale of Russian oil loaded on tankers until April 17. The permit will be valid until May 16.
