The Russian Ministry of Education has determined the workload of high school students for two years. This was announced on April 18 by Maxim Kostenko, an expert of the department, head of the Lesnev Institute of Content and Teaching Methods.

"The Federal State Educational Standard regulates the minimum and maximum number of hours per level of education. Thus, according to the standard, the amount of academic hours of a high school student for two years of study (grades 10-11) ranges from 2,312 to 2,516 hours," Kostenko said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

He clarified that the minimum value (2,312 hours) is calculated based on the maximum allowable weekly workload under the SanPiN for a five-day academic week (34 hours), and the maximum (2,516 hours) for a six—day academic week (37 hours).

On April 2, Zen platform analysts reported that news is becoming an important source of information for preparing high school students for exams, helping them form arguments and navigate current topics. According to the survey, 58% of schoolchildren use examples from the news when writing essays on Russian language and literature. Another 27% read such materials in order to better understand modern topics and form their own position, while 15% prefer to rely only on classical literature.
