The United States allowed transactions with Russian oil loaded on tankers until April 17. Kirill Dmitriev, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), made his comment on this issue on April 18 in the Telegram channel.

"The United States has allowed transactions with Russian oil loaded on tankers until April 17. The document is valid until May 16. Thus, despite the active political resistance, the lifting of sanctions on Russian oil was extended," he said.

As the diplomat pointed out, Russia continues to cooperate with the United States on economic and energy issues.

The US Treasury Department had earlier renewed the license for the sale of Russian oil loaded on tankers until April 17. The permit will be valid until May 16.

On April 15, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant indicated that easing sanctions against Russian oil could stabilize the global fuel market. In his opinion, the price of oil could jump to $250 per barrel, but this did not happen due to the easing of sanctions.
