The State Duma proposed to increase the indexation of social pensions to 15%
On April 18, deputies of the State Duma from the Fair Russia faction proposed setting the indexation of social pensions and related payments at 15% for all recipients. A corresponding appeal addressed to Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova was sent by party leader Sergei Mironov and head of the Committee for the Development of Civil Society Yana Lantratova.
"It seems advisable to consider the possibility of adjusting the indexation of social pensions and payments calculated based on the size of the social pension from April 1, 2026 to a level of at least 15% and ensure that this decision is extended to all recipients of the corresponding payments," RIA Novosti cites the text of the document.
Mironov, in an interview with the agency, noted that since April 1 of this year, social pensions have increased by 6.8%. At the same time, payments to veterans of the Great Patriotic War and military personnel who depend on the size of the social pension should increase by 14.8%.
"And this indexation is much closer to the level of real consumer inflation over the past year. In December 2025, according to the Central Bank and Rosstat, citizens estimated it at 14.5%. We believe that the growth of social pensions should exceed this level, and this year's indexation should be at least 15%," the politician explained.
Yana Lantratova added that more than 3 million citizens in Russia are recipients of such pensions. Among them are elderly and disabled people who could not form an insurance record.
"I am confident that this measure will reduce the risks of poverty, support vulnerable categories of citizens and strengthen public confidence in the social policy of the state," the deputy stressed.
