- The Russian Security Council responded to the EU's refusal to recognize the fact of UAV strikes on Russian territory
The official representative of the European Commission (EC), Anita Hipper, "has not heard or does not want to hear" about the crashes of Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) on the territory of the European Union (EU), but she is unlikely to be happy one morning to run into them on her way to work. This was announced to Izvestia on April 17 by the press service of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.
Earlier, the official said that "the European Commission has no confirmation of strikes against Russia from EU airspace." This is how she reacted to a warning from Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu about the possibility of Russia using the principle of the right to self-defense in response to these strikes.
In response, the Russian Security Council cited examples of Ukrainian UAV crashes on the territory of the European Union itself.
"It is unlikely that Ms. Hipper will experience positive emotions if one day, leaving home on her way to work at the EC office, she discovers a Ukrainian UAV with an unexploded warhead that has "lost its way" and which "EU countries did not give permission to fly towards Russia." But for some reason he was flying there and fell on the territory of an EU member state," the press service of the Russian Security Council summed up.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on April 6 that Moscow had made a special statement to the Baltic states in connection with their intention to allow Ukrainian drones to use their skies. She explained that if the Baltic states do not take into account the warnings, they will have to face retaliatory measures.
The head of European diplomacy, Kaya Kallas, said on April 2 that the Baltic countries had not opened their airspace. Federation Council Chairman Valentina Matvienko noted that Russia would not be flexible.
