Search teams in the Shumskoye rural settlement of the Leningrad region have discovered a mass grave of civilians who were killed by the Nazis during the Great Patriotic War (WWII). This was announced on April 17 by the TV channel "78.ru ".

As follows from the document received by the search team, we are talking about residents of the Krasny Oktyabr state farm in the Mginsky district. The remains of the victims belong, among others, to children from 5 to 13 years old, as well as young women. In total, 16 people became victims.

According to historical facts, it has been established that the massacre of people was committed around the beginning of December 1941, when German troops occupied the area. During the short period of their stay near Leningrad, the fascists managed to commit many murders of civilians.

"At the Krasny Oktyabr state farm, the Germans forcibly took out a group of residents with young children, locked them tightly in a wooden house and set them on fire," the media quoted the document as saying.

A month later, the invader's troops were driven back by Red Army soldiers.

In February, investigators and criminologists, together with search teams, found the remains of more than 250 people killed by the Nazis during the Second World War on the outskirts of Genichesk in the Kherson region. Among the dead are elderly people, women and children. Investigating the criminal case of the genocide of the peoples of the USSR during the Second World War, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation was able to reliably establish that the Nazi invaders in the Kherson region purposefully killed the Soviet population.
