The emergency situation regime was introduced on the territory of Balakhna, located in the Nizhny Novgorod region, due to the threat of a possible collapse of a three-story apartment building there. This was announced on April 17, the press service of the city administration reported.

"An emergency regime was declared in Balakhna due to the danger of the collapse of an apartment building at 54 Engels Street. The house was built in 1954," TASS cites the contents of the statement.
