Pakistan had to deploy about two dozen fighter jets to escort the Iranian delegation last weekend. Security measures had to be tightened due to reports that Israel could attack representatives of Iran who arrived for talks with the United States. This was reported by the Reuters news agency on April 17, citing sources.

"When the negotiations failed, the Iranians began to fear that something had gone wrong. They suspected that they could become a target," the agency quoted one of the interlocutors as saying.

As a result, the host country insisted on strengthening security measures when the delegation returned to Tehran. The Iranians were escorted by at least 20 fighter jets, and an air warning and control system was also deployed.

At a meeting with Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on April 11, the Iranian delegation outlined Tehran's "red lines" before negotiations with the United States. Vice President of the United States Jay Dee Vance said on April 12 that the Iranian and American sides had not reached a common agreement during negotiations in Islamabad.

On April 13, the United States began a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz due to the failure of negotiations between Washington and Tehran. On April 17, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi announced that the passage through the Strait of Hormuz had been opened to commercial vessels due to the truce between Lebanon and Israel. At the same time, US President Donald Trump said that the naval blockade of Iran's ports remains in place, despite the opening of the Strait of Hormuz, until our deal with Iran is 100% completed. The politician believes that the process should go very quickly, since most of the points of the negotiations have already been agreed.
