As part of a working trip to the Volgograd region, one of the key agricultural regions of Russia, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev held a meeting on the progress of spring field work.

The sowing campaign in Russia is gaining momentum — field work is already underway in half of the country's regions. The figures speak for themselves: top dressing affected over 12 million hectares of winter crops, spring sowing was carried out on an area of 2.7 million hectares. Special attention is paid to the support of farmers.

The government has provided tools to provide agricultural producers with seeds, mineral fertilizers, fuel and modern machinery. In particular, to stimulate the technical modernization of the agro-industrial complex, financing of preferential leasing has been increased to 15 billion rubles this year, and more than 3 thousand units of machinery and equipment have already been delivered to the fields.

"According to the plans, the sown area in the 26th year should amount to 83 million hectares. About 20 million hectares were sown for winter crops last year. The results of recent monitoring have confirmed that 97% of crops are in good condition. This is better than the average values for the last 5 years. The area under spring crops will be about 56 million hectares. In particular, grain crops are increasing by almost 700 thousand hectares. And the area under oilseeds should also grow by 300 thousand hectares. The Government retains the tools to finance seasonal field work. Thus, 90 billion rubles were allocated to the regions for direct support of farmers. The funds should be delivered rhythmically to the recipients. In addition, 17.5 billion rubles are provided for financing the mechanism of preferential short—term loans for crop production," Dmitry Patrushev said.

Also, during his working trip to the region, the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation held a bilateral meeting with the head of the Volgograd region, Andrei Bocharov. The region demonstrates stable economic results and is one of the three leaders in the Southern Federal District (SFD) in terms of investments in fixed assets. In addition, Dmitry Patrushev visited a number of enterprises of the agro-industrial complex and examined the bank protection of the Volga River.

Dmitry Patrushev told the Board of the Federal Forestry Agency in Moscow on April 14 that a steady positive trend in forest reproduction and conservation has persisted in Russia over the past five years. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, in 2025, forestry provided a record revenue to the budget system - about 90 billion rubles. This was primarily due to an increase in the number of leased plots.
