The number of wildfires has increased in Primorsky Krai. As of April 16, there were 20 fires in the region, with a total area of 355.5 hectares. 18 of them were extinguished, and two were localized.
On the lands of the forest fund, 10 forest fires were recorded on a total area of 532.2 hectares. The 110-hectare site continues to burn in the Shkot district. 47 employees of the Primorsky airbase are fighting the fire, writes news agency UssurMedia with reference to the press service of the regional government.
The regional Ministry of Forestry said that the main causes of fires are careless handling of fire in forests and deliberate arson on lands of other categories.
