Forests began to burn more often in Primorye due to windy weather.

The number of wildfires has increased in Primorsky Krai. As of April 16, there were 20 fires in the region, with a total area of 355.5 hectares. 18 of them were extinguished, and two were localized.

On the lands of the forest fund, 10 forest fires were recorded on a total area of 532.2 hectares. The 110-hectare site continues to burn in the Shkot district. 47 employees of the Primorsky airbase are fighting the fire, writes news agency UssurMedia with reference to the press service of the regional government.

The regional Ministry of Forestry said that the main causes of fires are careless handling of fire in forests and deliberate arson on lands of other categories.

Thus, the prosecutor's office found that in the Khankai district the tenant of farmland did not arrange mineralized strips and did not remove dry grass. The fire spread to the forest, the fire area was 100 hectares. The organization was fined 1 million rubles.

During the day, 10 wildfires were detected on lands of other categories on an area of more than 509 hectares. There is a fire with an area of 20 hectares in the Partizansky urban district.

A special fire protection regime is currently in effect in the Border and Khasan districts.

Earlier it was reported that Khabarovsk island territories have prepared to fight landscape fires. In order to prevent an emergency, temporary fire stations of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were set up. They appeared on the islands of Bolshoy Ussuriysky, Dachny and Kabelny.
