The State Duma proposed to introduce a tax deduction for car repairs for pensioners
The State Duma proposed to introduce a tax deduction for car repairs for working pensioners. Anton Tkachev, deputy of the New People faction, and Vladislav Davankov, Vice Speaker of the Chamber, addressed Finance Minister Anton Siluanov with such an initiative.
According to TASS, a pensioner should receive such a deduction for the cost of repairing one vehicle that he uses for personal purposes, within the established annual limit and on the basis of supporting documents from a car service.
As the deputies noted, for many pensioners, the car remains a necessary means in everyday life, for example, for trips to the clinic and pharmacy, to the cottage and grocery shopping. In addition, in small towns and rural areas, a car remains the only convenient way to get to the right social facilities. At the same time, if a car breaks down, significant repair costs may be required, and such expenses may be particularly sensitive for a pensioner, the parliamentarians pointed out.
Such an approach would be consistent with the established logic of tax policy, according to which the state partially compensates citizens for socially significant expenses through the deduction mechanism, the authors of the initiative added.
Earlier it was reported that at the plenary session on April 15, the State Duma rejected a bill that proposed to exempt from administrative liability under Article 12.17 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation drivers of motorcycles, mopeds, and vehicles with the "Disabled" identification mark.
