The cost of an hour of rest for Russians is named
Most Russians maintain the same level of spending on holidays, but some travelers face rising prices or, conversely, are forced to reduce their budget. This is evidenced by the data from the Kupibilet service study, which was reviewed by Izvestia on April 20.
According to the survey, 39% of respondents said that their vacation expenses in 2026 have not changed compared to last year. At the same time, 30% noted an increase in costs. Of these, 10% attributed the increase to a desire to increase the comfort of travel, including choosing more expensive hotels or flights, 6% attributed it to higher prices for air tickets and accommodation, and 13% indicated that prices were rising faster than their income.
At the same time, 31% of Russians reported a reduction in their travel budget. Thus, 19% plan to save money during their holidays, while 12% choose more affordable destinations or refuse to travel altogether.
Most often, Russians put between 100,000 and 200,000 rubles per person on vacation — 54% of respondents indicated such a budget. Another 25% expect to spend up to 50 thousand rubles, 15% — from 200 thousand to 250 thousand rubles, and 6% are ready to allocate from 250 thousand to 400 thousand rubles for the trip.
The average budget per person is about 140 thousand rubles for a summer vacation. If we take into account the standard rest period of 10 days, the cost of one hour of travel is estimated at about 600 rubles.
"Recalculating the budget into the "cost of an hour of rest" is a visual way to assess the value of a vacation. Even with stable expenses, trips require serious investments, which is why Russians are increasingly planning trips in advance and looking for ways to save money without losing quality," the press service of Kupibilet noted.
The experts added that the best deals on flights are usually available when booking a few months before the trip, which reduces the cost of a vacation.
On April 8, Aleksan Mkrtchyan, Vice President of the Alliance of Travel Agencies (ATA), said that Russian tourists had canceled about 25% of bookings for the May holidays in Dagestan. At the same time, the company's analysts believe that demand in the direction will recover in the coming weeks.
