The State Duma announced the date of the indexation of military pensions

Military pensions in the Russian Federation will be indexed from October 1. This was announced on April 17 by Yaroslav Nilov, head of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs.

"Starting from October 1, pensions of military retirees will be indexed. These are not only pensioners who receive pensions from the Ministry of Defense, but also from all law enforcement agencies," he stressed in an interview with TASS.

The MP also drew attention to the fact that, unlike insurance and social pensions, which were already indexed in 2026, there is a special procedure for increasing military pensions. Their indexation directly depends on changes in the amount of military personnel's pay. Currently, the budget for 2026 includes an indexation rate of 4%. In 2025, the government increased this figure before indexing military pensions.

The increase in social pensions from April will affect the disabled, children with disabilities and citizens without insurance experience.

Ekaterina Stenyakina, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs, said on April 9 that certain categories of Russian citizens have the right to receive an insurance pension and a state disability pension at the same time. According to the MP, widows of deceased servicemen who have not remarried, disabled children and parents of deceased military personnel are also eligible for double payments.
