A private soldier who escaped from the unit killed a guard after being detained in St. Petersburg

In St. Petersburg, a private detained for unauthorized abandonment of a military unit in Petrozavodsk killed one of the soldiers accompanying him with a knife during the convoy. This was announced on April 16 by the press service of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation in the MAX messenger.

"While escorting the detainee to the location of the unit, on April 16 at about 20:00 in St. Petersburg, he distracted the attention of the guards, after which he inflicted a series of stabs on one of them, a contract serviceman of the same military unit," the department said.
