More than 14 thousand people were vaccinated against hepatitis A in Dagestan
Against the background of the natural disaster in Dagestan, more than 14 thousand people were vaccinated against hepatitis A. This was announced on April 17 by the press service of Rospotrebnadzor.
In addition, more than 4.5 thousand people were phaged as part of immunization activities with bacteriophage preparations. Comprehensive sanitary and anti‑epidemic measures are continuing in flood-affected areas of the republic.
"As of today, 569 residential buildings, 11 social facilities, and two water intake facilities have been treated. The work continues: the coverage of the territories is expanding, quality control of treatments is carried out and, if necessary, repeated disinfection," the department said.
It is noted that the situation in the region remains under strict control of Rospotrebnadzor.
On April 13, Russian President Vladimir Putin approved a list of instructions to eliminate the consequences of floods in Dagestan. The Head of State instructed to include representatives of federal authorities, executive bodies of Dagestan, as well as Deputy Presidential Envoy to the North Caucasus Federal District Marat Ramazanov in the commission. Alexander Kurenkov, the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, was appointed Chairman of the commission.
On April 9, Russian Emergencies Minister Alexander Kurenkov proposed that the situation in Dagestan and Chechnya be classified as a federal emergency. He also pointed out the need to develop plans for the restoration of residential and social facilities.
As a result of heavy rainfall on April 5, the Gedzhukhsky reservoir overflowed in Dagestan, which caused an earthen rampart to be breached. It was noted that a pregnant woman and a child died after they were swept away by the current. In addition, an apartment building in Makhachkala collapsed.
