By the end of 2026, Moscow plans to replace about 1.6 thousand security buffers. This was announced on Thursday, April 16, in the complex of urban economy of the capital.

Pyotr Biryukov, Deputy Mayor of the city for Housing and Communal Services and Landscaping, noted that such work is carried out on an ongoing basis to improve road safety, the Moscow City News Agency reports. According to him, buffers are installed on the most dangerous areas — bridges, bends, exits and exits — and help drivers navigate, as well as reduce the severity of the consequences of accidents.

It is specified that the buffers are used to separate traffic flows and are filled with water, rubber chips or other materials with damping properties, writes "Moscow 24".

The day before, Biryukov said that specialists from the urban economy complex had begun a large-scale flushing of street lighting facilities in Moscow.
