Zakharova compared the behavior of EU representatives with a piglet from the fairy tale "Piggy on the Christmas Tree"

Representatives of the European Union (EU) will not be invited to negotiations on the Ukrainian settlement as long as they continue to behave like the "pig on the Christmas tree" from the famous fairy tale. This was stated on April 16 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, during a briefing.

"As long as they behave like that piggy on the tree, who's going to let them into a decent house? Who will conclude contracts with them, which they themselves violate? Who will provide them with a place at the table, on which they are no longer even putting their feet, but their paws?" the diplomat noted.

Zakharova noted that EU representatives should learn to be responsible for their words, behave in a civilized manner, and comply with agreements.

On the same day, Zakharova noted that Europe had inflicted a strategic defeat on itself by imposing sanctions against Russia. According to her, there is currently no definite answer whether the EU and Russia will resume economic cooperation, since cooperation should be based on equality and respect.
