The ashes belonging to People's Artist of the USSR ballerina Maya Plisetskaya and People's Artist of the USSR composer Rodion Shchedrin were buried on the territory of the Novodevichy Cemetery in Moscow. This was announced on Thursday, April 16, by the press service of the Bolshoi Theater.

"The ceremony of burying the ashes of ballerina Maya Plisetskaya and composer Rodion Shchedrin took place at the Novodevichy Cemetery in Moscow," the cultural institution's Telegram channel said.

The text noted the great contribution that the figures made to ballet and world musical culture. The Bolshoi Theater presented fragments from the autobiographical works of Shchedrin and Plisetskaya, where they characterized each other's unique heritage.

Ballet dancer, director and producer Andris Liepa announced on November 25 last year that part of the joint ashes of Plisetskaya and Shchedrin were scattered over Oka. However, he did not specify exactly when the procedure was carried out, which was bequeathed by the artists themselves during his lifetime.
