The doctor named ways to ease the flowering period for allergy sufferers
Internist, immunologist Irina Yartseva told on Thursday, April 16, how allergy medications work and named ways to alleviate the symptoms of hay fever.
She explained that a medical mask, with which allergy sufferers sometimes try to protect themselves, will not help.
"There is a group of drugs that perfectly relieve symptoms, and it's not just vitamins. There are antileukotrienes, topical topical hormonal drops and sprays, as well as anti-IgE agents — they do not reduce overall immunity and do not burden the body, unlike hormonal injections," the specialist said in an interview with Lenta.Ru .
According to her, it is better to start treating allergies from November to December, then by the beginning of the season a person will practically not feel symptoms. She also mentioned other ways to alleviate her symptoms.
"When it rains, it's easier because the pollen is nailed down. On hot, windy days, it is better not to go out. It is advisable not to open the windows, install breezers or supply ventilation with filters. If you have to open the window, cover it with a wet gauze with a fine mesh," the immunologist noted.
Yartseva added that it is better to leave clothes from the street in the corridor or roll the outer layer inside, you should not wear loose hair outside, it is better to wipe the pet with a damp cloth after a walk.
The doctor stressed that the peak of dusting occurs at five in the morning, so it is better to exclude morning walks and jogging.
In addition, it is not recommended to go to parks and forests during the flowering season, especially if there are many birches there. You can take a saline solution with you outside and rinse your nose more often to reduce the concentration of pollen.
Earlier, on April 15, Naira Polyakova, an allergist and immunologist at the Semeynaya clinic network, warned that some foods could increase symptoms of pollen allergy, according to the website. kp.ru .
The specialist explained which products should be discarded during the flowering period, NSN reports. The doctor clarified that stone fruits, such as cherries, peaches, plums, cherries, apples, as well as kiwis and mangoes, can most often increase the manifestations of allergies. She urged allergy sufferers to eat radishes, turnips, beets and other fresh root vegetables, as well as peanuts, nuts and soybeans, with caution during the flowering period. In addition, allergy sufferers need to be careful about honey.
