Iran's supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, is alive despite being injured. This was announced on April 16 by the head of the Pentagon, Pete Hegseth.

"As for the status of the person (Khamenei. — Ed.), whom you mentioned, I believe that he has remained the same. <...> It is believed that he is alive, wounded and disfigured. The status remains the same," the Minister of War said.
