A Crimean resident was sentenced to 14 years in a penal colony for helping the SBU.

The Krasnodar Regional Court sentenced a 37-year-old man living in Kerch to 14 years in a high-security penal colony for helping the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) launch a crewless boat. This was reported on April 16 in the joint press service of the courts of the region.

The person involved in the criminal case initiated in accordance with Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("High Treason") personally contacted the SBU officers, from whom he began to receive assignments.

"In November 2023, the defendant photographed the coastline of the Black Sea in the urban—type settlement of Kabardinka in Gelendzhik and sent the photos to an SBU officer to organize the covert arrival of a Ukrainian-made unmanned aerial vehicles powered by a Sea baby, carrying unmanned aerial vehicles, and their subsequent deployment and remote launch," the statement said. a message in the Telegram channel.

The man also placed equipment in a wooded area, which was necessary for mooring the back. In addition, he deployed special devices there, with which he could remotely activate the devices of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

The activities of the attacker were uncovered and suppressed by representatives of the Federal Security Service (UFSB) of the Russian Federation in the Krasnodar Territory. He has now been sentenced to 14 years in prison, with its subsequent restriction for one year. As noted in the article, this person also had $5,000 confiscated, which he received for illegal work.

On the same day, the press service of the Sevastopol Prosecutor's office announced the sentencing of Ruslan Cherny-Shvets, a 51-year-old local resident and ex-militant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who was also convicted of treason. The man was lured to the side of the SBU by his former colleague Sergei Likhomanov. The two of them collected and provided intelligence to Kiev. Cherny-Shvets was sentenced to 18 years in prison and a fine of 330 thousand rubles for his activities.
