A shootout took place in the Orenburg region during the arrest of a criminal, as a result of which one police officer was killed and three others were injured. All the details are in the Izvestia article.

The circumstances of the incident

The incident occurred on April 16 in the Orenburg region. Police officers conducted an operation to detain a particularly dangerous criminal who was on the federal wanted list. During the arrest, the attacker offered armed resistance, using firearms.

During the shootout, one police officer was killed, and three others were injured in various degrees of severity. Data on their state of health and the nature of their injuries are being clarified. Information about the hospitalization of the victims has not been received at the moment.

Four ambulance crews are working at the scene of the shooting, the regional Ministry of Health told TASS.

"Four ambulance crews provided assistance, and the first one took eight minutes to arrive," the press service said.

The shooter managed to escape, operational search measures are being carried out aimed at establishing his location and arrest, the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for the region clarified.
