Zakharova pointed to the transformation of Germany into the main sponsor of the conflict in Ukraine

Germany has become the main sponsor of the conflict in Ukraine. This was stated on April 16 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, during a briefing.

"It would also be nice to recall that Germany has become the main sponsor of the <conflict>, the main sponsor of the militarization of Ukraine, as evidenced by the data published in Berlin on the amount of funds allocated by Germany for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (Armed Forces of Ukraine. — Ed.)," she noted.

According to the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the German authorities have spent more than €55 billion on the needs of the Ukrainian side. Zakharova also called Germany the main partner of the leader of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, in "destabilizing" the country's citizens after his visit to Berlin for intergovernmental consultations with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. In addition, the parties agreed on a "military package" worth €4 billion.

At the same time, Zakharova drew attention to entrepreneurs of small, medium and large businesses in Germany, who, in her opinion, are in greater need of funds allocated to Ukraine.

German government spokesman Stefan Cornelius said on February 23 that Germany had provided €55 billion in military assistance to Ukraine since 2022. According to him, Germany is currently the country's largest bilateral donor of civilian and military aid.

On February 13, Armando Mema, a member of the Finnish Freedom Alliance party, called on Germany to stop supplying weapons to Ukraine. According to him, otherwise the consequences may be unpredictable for both Ukraine and Europe.
